Here's my attempt to explain the dif...Hi Ella,

Here's my attempt to explain the differences between vampires and vaempires ... lol

In my world, vampires have some similarities to “traditional” vampires: they are undead creatures with enhanced abilities and senses; they feed on human blood to survive; exposure to the sun kills them. There are also differences: vampires emerged from radioactive fallout after a nuclear winter; they are born; they age (although they don’t die).

However, with the creation of synthetic human blood, vampires no longer feed on humans and are no longer susceptible to sunlight.

Then there are vaempires.

Vaempires are vampires who experience involuntary changes that transform them into bigger, stronger, faster version of themselves. They grow a second thumb on each hand and their physical appearance typically changes, as well. They end up as warm-blooded beings driven by the need for cold vampire blood.

The changes that make one a vaempire are not by choice. There is no rhyme or reason as to who mutates. There is no way to make it happen. There is no way to avoid it. There is no way to stop it once it starts. And synth-blood doesn’t satiate a vaempire’s hunger.

In Vaempires: Revolution, it is revealed that a small percentage of the vaempire population also develops additional abilities, like teleporting and breathing fire.

I hope this makes sense.Tomhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05310307325376889512noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7245338355060736409.post-35924013617576939672012-04-16T12:40:43.539-04:002012-04-16T12:40:43.539-04:00Thank you, EW. I could see myself wriggling to get into a pair of jeans from days gone past but comparing that with forcing our inspiration to fit into a certain configuration is something I never thought of. At least, how the two images are related..hehehe. Both can't be forced to go where they don't want to go.EW Gibsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15803476800662414598noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7245338355060736409.post-53950878364927483692012-04-16T12:00:35.740-04:002012-04-16T12:00:35.740-04:00Great post, Tom! I'm wondering if you can expand on what makes the mutated vampires in your story different from the regular ones?
