So what's with Red Riding Hood? I am in the throes of The Grimm Sisters and their pursuit of the Red Hand. (Yeah, I know it's for kids, but it's girls detecting fairy tale characters. Duh!)
And then there's the movie.
And now, television...
I'm wondering seriously, about the significance of Red Riding Hood suddenly showing up as the fairy tale topic of the hour. If it was just fairy tales, I would understand. But, this particular one. Is it the wolf thing? Just using her as another way to twist the werewolf trope?
I see Teen Wolf is back.
I'm definitely going to have to look into this more deeply. Any ideas out there? Clues? Or, better still, which fairy tale theme would you like to see more of in the media?
Waiting...

It does seem like Red Riding Hood is everywhere these days. It makes me wonder who will be focused on next. Doesn't Goldilocks deserve her 15 minutes of fame too? ;)
ReplyDeleteMust be since this is the second time I've heard her mentioned. First was hearing a reading of a Roald Dahl version of the story. Wonder who the three bears would be...?
